Sunrise & Spotted Cow at Devils Lake
I always encourage my couples to incorporate something that is ‘theirs’ into their engagement session. That might be a session at their home, the spot that they got engaged, a favorite hobby that they share or a special item etc. For Sami and Geoff that was hiking at their favorite spot, Devils Lake State Park. Just a quick 45 min drive from Madison, Devils Lake is a stunning option for engagement photos.
Sami and Geoff made the trek up the bluffs at devils lake in pitch black to catch sunrise on the session. They spent the first glimpses of light holding each other and reflecting on their relationship. They did what they love to do, cracked open a beer and laughed about how good at math Geoff is, and shared their excitement for the future. It was an incredible morning and one that I truly enjoyed.
For Photographers: This session was shot on a mix of digital and film. I shot Kodak Portra 400 in 35mm for the film and used my Fuji X100v, Fuji GFX 50sii and Canon R6 to capture the digital images.
