Since moving to Madison in 2019,
I had always been interested in doing a session on the frozen lakes around this area. As a true southerner (lol Missouri), I had never actually been on a frozen lake that was bigger than a football field so when A + M asked about doing a shoot on Lake Mendota I jumped on it!
After a few weeks of planning, we met up on a FREEZING cold evening in early march and trekked out into the middle of the lake. I shot a mix of digital and film images with my Canon R6 and Canon F1 with Portra 400 loaded up. The sunset was beautiful and after the hour long session, we couldn't feel our fingers. Totally worth it.
